From the main National Park car park in Grassington, cross the pedestrian crossing and turn left along the road into the village. Turn right up the high street and continue up the road to the left side of the square to the town hall. Turn right in front of the town hall and follow the upper road. You will see a footpath sign pointing up a lane on your left.

Follow this footpath (High Lane) along a walled lane, then track across fields. When it bends up hill, there is a stile to your right. Cross this and follow to a wooded area. Keep going through these woods and the old hospital site. Keep going in the same direction and the path leads to a narrow walled path, then out onto the road.

Turn left onto the road and The Clarendon Hotel is shortly reached on your left which is an ideal stop for lunch or a drink.

Follow the road down the dip and take the road on your right. Go past the old village school and take the footpath on the left through the metal kissing gate just after this. Drop down to the side of the beck and follow the footpath downstream, through the fish farm and houses to the road.

Turn right onto the road, then take the first footpath signed off to your left to the suspension bridge and stepping stones. Stay on this side of the river, turn right and follow the river upstream.

Near the church you have two options:

1. In winter or if the river is full, keep on this side of the river, through a gate onto a lane, then take the footpath signed to your left just before the lane bends sharply right. Follow this footpath to the bridge by Linton Falls.

2. In the summer or if the river is low, keep going towards the church, drop down the bank and cross the stepping stones. Continue on through the church yard, out onto the lane and follow this until just after the houses where a footpath goes off to your right. Go down here, turn right before you get to the little footbridge and follow it round to cross the bridge over Linton Falls.

Return to the car park up the flagged lane by the bridge.
