Flasby Fell

Start Along the road between Stirton and the Grassington Road (just South of Skipton)

On the road between Stirton and the Grassington Road, there is a parking area on the bend nearest to the Grassington Road. From here, go through the gate and follow the track towards Sharp Haw (pictured).

Just before the track bends to the left, take the bridleway to the right of the track that continues straight on up to the fell. Go through a gate that marks the boundary into open access land.

Continue along the bridleway for a short distance. To your left you will see a dry stone wall that runs towards the peak of Sharp Haw. Near the left hand side edge of the wall is a lone tree, with a gate to its right. Head across country to this gate.

Go through this gate and follow a track which weaves through boulders towards Sharp Haw, up a ridge to a cairn. Head towards Sharp Haw and cross the wall at the bottom of the dry valley. Follow this wall straight up the hill, turning left at the top to reach the trig point on the summit.

Continue along the ridge and down the hill in the same direction. Follow the track which leads off to the left to then run along the boundary wall of the woods. At the wall corner is a wooden barrier which joins two walls. Scale this barrier and follow the path into the wood, through a rhododendron tunnel and down to join a footpath.

Turn left onto the footpath and when it reaches the corner of a forestry track, take the higher route. Follow this track to the edge of the wood and when the track turns uphill to the left, take the footpath that goes right from the bend, just back inside the wood, before reaching a stile leading out into fields.

Continue in the same direction, down and back up a dry valley, to a gate (the second one in the wall to your left after the dry valley is crossed). Cross the stile by this gate and follow the wall boundary in front of you. Cross a stile when this wall ends and head across the field to another stile in the post and wire fence in front of you.

Cross this stile and follow the left hand side of the fence to the road. Turn left onto the road and follow until you reach the beginning of the walk.
